Linux Professional Institute offers promotional exams at Southeast LinuxFest

(Sacramento, CA, USA: May 2, 2012) The Linux Professional Institute
(LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization
(http://www.lpi.org), announced promotional exam labs for their Linux
Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) at Southeast LinuxFest
(SELF: http://www.southeastlinuxfest.org/), June 8-10 in Charlotte,
North Carolina. During the conference LPI will also host an information
booth and an LPIC-1 Exam Cram session.

"Participation and attendance at Southeast LinuxFest has grown each year
since its inception in 2009.  This has been possible through the support
of sponsors,  volunteers, and a network of LUGs in eight states
throughout the region.  LPI is pleased to be part of this groundswell of
support as a community sponsor of this important regional Linux and Open
Source event," said Jim Lacey, president and CEO of LPI.

LPI exam labs will be on Sunday, June 10th at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
at the Blake Hotel, Charlotte, North Carolina.  All exams will be
available at the promotional price of $99 per exam, except for LPI-301
which will be $219. Details about the different exams are available on
the LPI certification web page:

To register for an LPI exam at SELF you may email events_at_lpi.org and
indicate which time slot(s) and exam(s) you are interested in. Please
bring picture ID and your LPI ID to the exam lab. LPI IDs can be
obtained by registering online at:

The LPIC-1 Exam Cram session will be all day on Friday, June 8th and is
free of charge.  The LPIC-1 Exam Cram session will be led by Ross
Brunson, LPI’s Director of Member Services. These sessions will assist
exam candidates in preparing for the LPIC-1 exams. Exam cram sessions
include information on exam structure, question types, and how to use
practical experience and one’s knowledge of Linux to determine the
correct answers to exam questions. Participants in these exam cram
sessions will also gain important tips, tricks and techniques in order
to successfully complete and pass their LPI exams. Ross is an
experienced presenter on this subject and welcomes all questions during
his exam cram sessions.

LPI will also have an information booth during SELF--please feel free to
drop by and ask questions about LPI's programs for IT professionals,
training providers, academia, and solution providers.

Registration for SELF is free of charge:
